JINHU DOU 窦锦虎

Principal Investigator

Assistant Professor of Materials Science and Engineering

Jinhu was born in Weifang, China, the city considered to be the birthplace of kites and the kite capital of the world.  He studied polymer chemistry at Qingdao University of Science and Technology and obtained a B.S. degree in June 2010. Then, he moved to Beijing and began his doctoral study under the supervision of Prof. Jian Pei at Peking University. His dissertation research focused on field-effect transistors based on conjugated polymer. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry in July 2016, he became a postdoctoral associate in the group of Prof. Mircea Dincă at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, started in August 2016. At MIT, he worked on the development of 2D conductive Metal-Organic Frameworks for applications in energy research. In September 2021, he moved back to the Weiminghu Lake and was appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor of MSE in Peking University. Research in his group focuses on the functional chemistry of organic and metal-organic materials. Jinhu enjoys photography, hiking, and of course, cooking.
